Pimm’s a famous brand name inextricably linked with Ascot, Wimbledon and Henley.
An English tradition with inherent qualities offering broader marketing opportunities in overseas markets. That was the potential perceived for the brand until research identified the packaging as ‘uninteresting, dowdy and cheap’. With little advertising support it became clear that the packaging had to work harder to fulfil the brands
global aspirations.
Delving into the brands background only found it dated back to General Gordon of Khartoum in 1870 but was also a much prized travelling companion with Expats, who travelled the four corners of the British Empire and beyond, as a nostalgic reminder of home.

Added emphasis was given to the important numeral. There were several recipes each having different numerals but the number one was the most sought after. Superimposed on this, the founders signature, now the company trademark.
